Erika Pena Collection Margarita Denim Ikat Dress

Erika Peña designed her Resort wear collection collection inspired by her lifestyle of travel and living in beautiful islands She wanted to design a collection that can transition from day to night effortlessly but look feminine, sensual, and timeless.

The Luna collection came in inspiration from her Roots, her Puerto Rican & Dominican heritage and uses nothing but her love of Caribbean culture Peña designed multiple layers and ruffles with voluminous skirts. Each piece crafted blends her Latin roots and her bold fashion claim. And the results are luxurious, one-of-a-kind true works of art.

The IKAT Collection was Inspired by the traditional hand woven IKAT fabric from the Island of Flores. Erika wanted to capture the beauty of Bali by utilizing local hand made fabrics. Ikat, or ikkat, is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs resist dyeing on the yarns prior to dyeing and weaving the fabric. In ikat the resist is formed by binding individual yarns or bundles of yarns with a tight wrapping applied in the desired pattern. The yarns are then dyed. She took the Sarongs and used the different prints throughout the fabric in different patterns throughout the dresses. Giving the dresses multiple flowing ruffles and full sleeves and skirts.
